We’re thrilled to introduce elements, a new anthology series exploring the revolutionary power of the four classical elements: Fire, Earth, Water and Air.

We’re curating this series to recognise and explore the core role of each of the elements in building and sustaining our movements for liberation. Fire—with its rage and destructive energy—burns down the old and clears the ground for something new, but it must be balanced by Earth, which roots us in our bodies, the natural world and the wisdom of our ancestors and traditions. Water carries us forward, releasing our grief and emotions and renewing us in its flow, while Air breathes life into our dreams and desires, helping us imagine new futures.

The series begins with The Hajar Book of Rage—a Fire book—dedicated to the fierce, animating power of rage as a starting point for revolutionary work.

We are now open for submissions from writers of colour on the theme of revolutionary anger.
