OOIPP is a brand-new online festival featuring work from 15 of the UK’s best indie presses over the course of a week.
On 22 July and 25 July, two Hajar poets will be reading from their books.
Sarah Lasoye is a poet and writer from London. She is an alumna of the Barbican Young Poets and a current member of Octavia—Poetry Collective for Women of Colour. Her first publication, Fovea / Ages Ago, was published by Hajar Press in April 2021.
Jamal Mehmood is a London-based poet, writer and filmmaker whose work has been featured by the BBC, Magma, Popula, Hikaayat and Media Diversified. His film Muriid was released in 2021 by the Institute of Contemporary Arts and the BBC as part of the New Creatives scheme. His poetry and fiction collection The Leaf of the Neem Tree was published by Hajar Press in June 2021.
